Old School

That’s Old School…

At times we talk about the ways of past generations which get brought back in our day for our benefit. Call it going old school.  We know that some of the old ways must pass away, but much that is ancient must never be lost to us. In our next season together as Jacob’s Well, we will be jumping into a broad overview of the major themes and teachings of the Old Testament. We will survey the various forms of literature found there looking at the story of redemption unfolding in its various historical stages.

The story line of the Bible is consistent from beginning until end; the creator God is at work to redeem the world through the person and work of Jesus Christ. That story is ancient, yet always relevant; eternally wise and timely for the twenty-first century.  In fact, we think the Old Testament is a bit like Chuck Taylors...old school, yet perpetually relevant.  Jesus himself taught his followers that the Old Testament was all about him (Luke 24:44-48). We look forward to journeying together into the ancient writings which foretold the coming one and teach us the very character and ways of God.
