As we look into the halls of history we find many expressions of joy and celebration that focus the heart of the worshipper during the Christmas season. This year we will be unveiling the advent season at Jacob’s Well by journeying in the beauty, joy and exultant expressions of soul found in some of the season’s most cherished carols and hymns. The church has been given a great treasure of theological depth in the songs sung through the years as we celebrate the coming of Jesus to the earth. Over the four weeks of advent this year and on Christmas morning, we will sing, investigate and unveil the history and biblical theology of five great Christmas carols. As we look to the past, in the now of our present, our hope of the Kingdom will be provoked as we marvel at the one who was, as the book of Galatians teaches us, born in the fullness of time.
