Community Meditation Questions

  • The preacher has challenged us throughout this book about the vanity of pursuing life’s good gifts apart from God. Why do you think he focuses some much time on money and wealth?
  • How was Job’s attitude different from the man in the anecdote found in Ecclesiastes 5:13-17?
  • Read together Matthew 6:19-24. How can you know if you are “serving money?”
  • Discuss the difference between poverty theology, prosperity theology and the view found in chapter four of Paul’s writing to the Philippians.
  • Pray together a prayer of confession for our lack of joy in generosity.
