• Jesus has his destiny in His hands. No earthly power can determine the ultimate destiny of Jesus. Read John's account of this in John 19:1-16, focusing on verses 10-11. How does this effect your view of God and His sovereignty? What does this show you about Jesus and His understanding of the Father?

Feeling Life Deeply

• What have you done with the person of Jesus? Accepted him or rejected him? No earthly power can determine the destiny of Jesus but every soul's destiny is determined by what he does with Jesus. If you have accepted Jesus, do you believe that Jesus has met your deepest need in forgiving you of your sin? Are there other "needs" in your life that you tend to feel are more important than Him redeeming you from the curse of sin? In what ways can you continue to trust Jesus this week?

• How does seeing the sovereignty and control of God even over Jesus' trial give you encouragement this week in your job? In the midst of a struggle you are dealing with? As you interact with unbelievers in your family and in your neighborhood? Read 1 Peter 2:19-25 and 4:19, how can you this week entrust yourself to the one who judges justly?
