Discipleship group questions
Launching questions
- Reflect on the fact that ‘The LORD our God, the LORD is one.’ (from Deuteronomy 6:4). What does it mean for the Lord to be your God? What does it mean that He is ‘one’ (reflect on the nature of the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit)?
- How would you describe your heart of love towards God? Toward your family (both who you live with and the broader community of faith)?
Encourage
- Read Deuteronomy 6:4-9 aloud. How do these attributes of God inform your heart and actions toward your family?
- Read Psalms 127-128 aloud. At your very core, who or what do you trust? To help you, reflect on Jeremiah 17:5-8. How does your trust inform your view of the future?
Challenge
- God sees children as a blessing from Him, for the entire community of faith. Do you? Why or why not?
- How are you intentionally seeking to bless the next generation, both through your own children if you have them or through the children of our church family?
