Week 3

This week, we will be looking at our own stories, and understanding the ways we have been shaped by the experiences and expectations inherited from our families. We will consider the unwritten rules we have learned and patterns of relationship that have been modeled to us. As we learn and practice new healthy rhythms in relationships, we know that we are called to this as sons and daughters of God. This new family calls us to a love one another with honesty and compassion. We are loved by God in this same way. This week, consider how God calls you, loves you, and changes you as you grow in your relationship with him.

Day 1- Read Ephesians 1:3-10

• What blessings has God given to you in Christ?
• Express your thanksgiving to God.

Day 2- Read Romans 8:14-17

• What about this passage challenges you in your relationship with God?
• How is God inviting you to cry out to him today? Express your need to God in prayer.

Day 3- Read Psalm 117

• In what ways have you seen the steadfast love of the LORD? How has God shown you his faithfulness?
• Spend some time in worship before God today

Day 4-  Read 1 Peter 2:9-10

• What are the excellencies of God that you personally can proclaim?
• How does the change of identity in verse 10 affect your life? Express that to God in prayer.

Day 5- Read Isaiah 43:1-7

• What word or phrase stands out to you in this passage?
• Express to God why that is. Spend some time meditating on that truth today.
