Discipleship Guide & Reflection Questions

Week 6

This week we are learning about climbing the ladder of integrity. This tool helps us understand our own responses to different challenges we encounter in everyday life. Though we may not always be aware of it, our values and desires shape much of how we react to others. When these values or desires are unmet, we can disproportionately respond to the actions of others. We want to be people who respond to others with honesty and love. As we follow Jesus, part of our discipleship is understanding why we respond the way that we do, and asking God to help us as we pursue life in community. This week, slow down to consider how God is calling you to live and respond to others in a way that is honest and loving.

Day 1- Read 1 Chronicles 29:10-13

  • How does the truth that God is in control of all things have an impact on your interactions with others?
  • Spend some time in worship before the exalted LORD today.

Day 2- Read 1 John 3:16-18

  • Who in your life might God be asking you to love in word and deed today?
  • Make time to check in with a family member or friend and express your appreciation and care for them.

Day 3- Read Psalm 112:6-9

  • How does trusting in the LORD affect your day to day experience?
  • Spend some time asking God to remind you to rest in him today.

Day 4-  Read Philippians 4:8-9

  • What word or phrase stands out to you in this passage?
  • Express to God why that is.

Day 5- Read Matthew 5:2-12

  • What verse encourages you most deeply?
  • What verse challenges you most?
