• Read 2 Peter 1:3,4; Psalm 130:5. Why is it important to know what God actually promises us in his Word?
• How have you seen the hope of people affected by false promises or false expectations?

Feeling Life Deeply

• Have you ever felt a sense hopelessness in your life? What were you believing and trusting in when you felt that way? Here you may find a false anchor. What are some false anchors for us?

Living with Courage

• You only need an anchor if you expect rough seas. How can our own hope in the gospel give us courage to live for God’s glory and the good of others? How can you extend gospel hope to one another in your MC?
• Who do you know that does not have a sure and steadfast hope in Jesus Christ? How can you extend the gospel to them? Pray for the Spirit’s encouragement and power for you to do so.
