Community Meditation

Know

  • ‘You can do a lot of things with money’: What do you choose to do with your money? Evaluate last month’s personal budget or family’s budget, and answer the aforementioned question.
  • What is the difference between hoarding and saving wealth? Is there a difference? What is it?
  • ‘Read Psalm 73. What is Asaph’s view of the wicked (v. 1-16)? What is God’s view of the wicked (v. 17-22, 27)? How should we view the “prosperity” of the wicked (v. 23-26, 28)?

Feel

  • When you realize that God is taking notice and condemns the “rich” for their misuse of wealth, how does this make you feel?
  • Do riches express your wealth towards God or towards yourself? How so or how not? How does this make you feel?
  • James 4:17 says: ‘So it is sin for the person who knows to do what is good and doesn’t do it’ In what ways does this provide comfort for you? In what ways does this provide conviction for you?

Live

  • Do you view your wealth as a possession or as a privilege?
  • In what ways does your view of God and/or eternity affect how you live?
  • Money can do a lot of things to you’: Evaluate the four reasons ‘the rich’ were condemned. Are you guilty of any of these as well?
