Equip

• Take some time to reflect on the Acts series as a whole. First, choose and read aloud the text that you found most compelling from this series. What made this passage stand out?
• What do you hope to “take with you” from our study in Acts? What did you find most challenging, encouraging, surprising or new as we studied this book over the last seven months?

Encourage

• Consider Paul’s example of faithfulness throughout the latter half of Acts. What is your understanding of why and how Paul was able to endure so much for the sake of the Gospel. What can we draw from his example? Now read Colossians 1:24-29 together. What does this text add to your discussion?
• On Sunday we discussed the difference between effectiveness and fruitfulness—put another way: faithfulness bears fruit but not always in a tangible results-oriented kind of way. Do you find that distinction helpful? Why or why not?

Challenge

• Discuss the following statement: “those who bear crosses are working with the grain of the universe.” Do you think that’s true? If so, what might you practically do this week to pursue greater alignment with “the grain of the universe”? Put another way: how might you find analogies to the cross in your own spheres/roles … What does it look like to bear the cross in your relationships (spouses, parents, children, friends etc.), in your workplace, in your discipleship group, etc? Help one another find specific and practical answers to this question.
• End your time by praying into the things you identified in the previous question.
