Discipleship group questions

Launching questions

  • Why do you think it’s difficult being single in a community like ours? If you are single, take the lead and share your personal experiences. If you do not have any single people in your discipleship group, reach out to others in your missional community.

Encourage

  • Whether married or single, the Gospel calls us to a life of mutual submission. Read Ephesians 5:15-33 out loud together. How do these truths relate to you if you’re single? If you’re married? Try and be specific.

Challenge

  • We naturally tend to exclude the opinions and wisdom from those whose lives are different from ours. What are some actionable steps forward you can take that can be used by God to break down more “dividing walls of hostility” within your own life? What does your dinner table look like? Your calendar? Who is it that gets access to your life and why?
