Discipleship group questions

Launching questions

  • What was the single most compelling piece of advice and/or most insightful thing you heard from either the video or the teaching on Sunday?

Encourage

  • Read Ephesians 5:21-33 together and review the three themes from the teaching on Sunday (marriage as covenant, sanctifying agent, and gospel re-enactment). Which resonates most deeply with what you’ve either experienced in or observed about marriage? Why so? Put another way: have you ever seen or experienced any of these realities in action?

Challenge

  • How might God be actively using your marriage or your singleness as a sanctifying agent in your life right now? Avoid generalities and try to be specific in your answer.
  • For married folks: what are the pressure points in your marriage (money, time, extended-family drama, past sin in your relationship, physical intimacy) or for those who aren’t married: what have you observed as the pressure points in the marriages of others? Why do you think this is the case?
