• Can you remember a time when you were desperate for God’s help and He intervened? Share that story and the impact it had on you.

• Why do you think Luke makes sure to tell these stories together? What are the commonalities between them and how might those connections help us better understand the identity of Jesus from this text?
• Do you think often about the gift of eternal life? Why or why not? What practical difference(s) does it make for us to take the reality of eternal life in Jesus seriously?

Challenge

• In both stories, Jesus takes steps to restore these women to the communities from which they’d been cast out. This reminds us of the importance of community to our own restoration and maturity. In what ways have you been negligent in pursuing community with others recently? What steps could you take this week to change that?
